The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reminding the public that not all unsupervised wild animals have truly been abandoned, and that not all injured animals require rescue. Â The Ministry says some species leave their young for extended periods of time while gathering food, or to lead potential predators away. Â If you find a juvenile animal in the wild, observe it for a day or two in order to determine whether or not it has actually been abandoned. Â If so, contact the MNRF for further instructions, since the appropriate response could differ from species to species.
