Last September, it was Cochrane. Now, at end of business on August 10th, Iroquois Falls loses its Beer Store.
It’s one of ten locations across Ontario to close that day, in what a company news release calls “a difficult decision”. It offers no explanation.
The release also says that effective January 1st, 2026 grocery stores that sell alcohol will have to accept empties.
In the Falls, donated empties are a major source of revenue for Access Transit.
