Our local history feature this week looks at the front page of the Cochrane Times from June 3rd, 1995.
It features a story about local resident Michael Palangio drilling town council on why it hadn’t put the airport manager position out to tender. It had been held since 1980 by Mayor David Hughes.
The mayor couldn’t participate in the discussion, but Councillor Nora Egan told Palangio that some of his assumptions about how the job was filled were erroneous.
There was also a story about Extendicare potentially removing 25 beds, but pledging that no one would be forced out.
And there was a story and photo about spring cleaning Lake Commando.
