It’s Canadian Library Month, and the Cochrane Public Library has jumped in with both feet.
Acting CEO Jessica Horne says there’s a packed schedule of events. One thing she’s excited about is the extension of hours until eight o’clock on Monday and Wednesday nights. She says it allows her staff to offer programs to people who miss them during the day.
“This is a staff-led initiative, so it is not costing us any more dollars to be open for these hours,” she says. “We are rearranging the staff scheduling.”
Evening hours are a pilot right now, but Horne says the library board will look at making it permanent.
