‘Large drug seizure’ by OPP in Cochrane

Search warrants at two Cochrane homes at mid-morning Tuesday led to what the OPP call “a large drug seizure” and the arrest of three people.

One of the homes is on Thirteenth Ave., the other on Huron Rd.

Officers seized an estimated $25,000 worth of five different suspected drugs, two guns, some cell phones, scales, packaging and about $3,500 in cash.

All three accused are from Cochrane.

CHARGES

Against a 38-year-old man:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone
  • Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – lorazepam
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

Against a 48-year-old man and 50-year-old woman:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
