Impaired driving charges, 90-day licence suspensions and vehicle impoundments happened twice in our area on Sunday, in separate incidents within six hours of each other.
OPP say they pulled over a vehicle on Hwy. 11 near Iroquois Falls at 5:30pm, after noticing it swerving.
The driver – a 62-year-old man from Campbellcroft, north of Port Hope and Cobourg — was charged with impaired driving and driving with an open container of liquor in the vehicle.
Then at about 11:30pm during a RIDE check on Hwy. 579 in Cochrane, a 32-year-old local woman was charged with impaired driving.
The drivers in both incidents have court dates in the next several weeks.
