The company that owns cogeneration plants in Iroquois Falls and Kapuskasing has been placed into interim receivership. Validus Power CEO Todd Short confirms the news about his company. He won’t go into further details, but adds that further information will be disclosed later. An interim receiver is a court appointed trustee to safeguard creditors’ assists and perform other functions the court could order.
Last summer, Shortt announced a high-volume data centre in Iroquois Falls that would create up to 60 jobs. He also unveiled a plan to build a splash pad and playground for the Falls.
We have reached out to Mayor Tory Delaurier for reaction, and are awaiting a reply.
