Cooperation between provincial police on both sides of the Ontario- Québec border results in fraud charges against six people, connected to training transport truck drivers.
After being tipped by Sûreté du Québec, OPP found three major components of fraud:
- using an interpreter to complete licencing tests;
- non-Ontario residents applying for an Ontario licence;
- and circumventing the entry level standard to drive a large truck.
Two people from Québec, two from Cornwall and two from Caledon, Ont. have all been criminally charged with fraud over $5,000.00.
