How Cochrane will be inconvenienced by the two-week lockdown

The mayor of Cochrane says the impending two-week lockdown is a huge inconvenience… especially to businesses that are still ramping up again since the spring lockdown.

Denis Clement says the Tim Horton Event Centre arena and swimming pool will be closed, as will other public venues that were in the spring, too.

Whether to keep town hall closed has yet to be determined.

ā€œIt was already going to shut down for Christmas week anyhow, so there’s no inconvenience there. We’ll probably be a very limited crew,ā€ notes Clement, adding that ā€œgaining from experience from the last lockdown, all our staff are well versed in how to work at home and they have the equipment to work from home and do their business at home. So that’s a plus.ā€

Essential services like garbage pick-up and snow removal will not be affected.
