Two days, two OPP drug busts on the streets of Cochrane

Provincial police say they made a fentanyl bust on Third St. in Cochrane on Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:00pm, officers spotted a wanted person on the street.  When he spotted them, they say he tried to dispose of what they suspect to be fentanyl worth about 480 dollars.

A 45-year-old man from Smooth Rock Falls is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

THE NEXT DAY…

Almost exactly 24 hours later, OPP in Cochrane seized a weapon and substances they believe to be fentanyl and methamphetamine. It’s the result of a traffic stop on Eighth St.

A 29-year-old Cochrane woman is up on two drug possession charges; one of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition; and one of being an occupant in a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon inside.

A 25-year-old Scarborough man also  faces the last two charges.
