You can’t blame this Grinch this time.
After chairing the committee for the Santa Claus Parade in Iroquois Falls for about a decade… Jane Kydd says the committee has had to cancel it for 2020.
“Due to the COVID and not being able to guarantee social distancing and using the town insurance – which is all of us – if somebody gets sick and there’s a problem and there’s a lawsuit, well, we could all be in trouble. So we just can’t do it,” she says.
“We’ll try our best next year. Hopefully next year they have a vaccine and we can all return to normal.”
Apart from the logistical and legal complications, Kydd says her committee members couldn’t live with themselves if someone got sick during the parade.
