The committee organizing a homecoming for the one-hundredth anniversary of Iroquois Falls Secondary School has put its plans on hold for a year.
Committee member Roy Takayesu says the ongoing question about when people will be able to gather in groups again went into the decision.
Besides, there is conflicting evidence whether the school went into operation in 1919, or as late as 1921.
“Any of those dates in there justify as being the 100th anniversary, so it still fits,” remarks Takayesu.
“We’re going to see about essentially moving everything forward to July ’21, still working on a big gala banquet and dance.”
That will be the Saturday. Friday will feature an alumni concert and barbecue.
Takayesu adds that the logo contest is moving ahead, as is work on historical displays.
