As the witching hour approaches, and with Halloween only a matter of days away, the OPPĀ is nudging ghosts and goblins with a few reminders for safe trick-or-treating.
Constable Michelle Simard has a list of them.
āOne of them is wear a costume that is easily visible at night,ā she says.Ā āAnd if itās not visible, consider putting reflective armbands around your arms or something on your back.Ā Also avoid wearing a mask. It inhibits your vision, so make-up would be a better option.ā
āCarry a flashlight.Ā Watch for traffic.Ā Do one side of the road at a time.Ā Avoid the zig-zag effect, and carefully inspect your candy when you get home. Do not have candy when youāre out on the road.ā
