The Cochrane Public Library is, among many other things, a centre of learning.
Every Monday night at six o’clock, it screens a documentary.
Program coordinator Ardis Proulx Chedore says it started a little over a year ago with National Film Board documentaries, then others that interest the public.
“We’ve got one on Frank Sinatra coming up. We’ve got one on Whitney Houston,” SAYS Proulx Chedore. “They’re just really nice, informal times where you can come, sit, socialize – we don’t mind if you talk a little bit – have a cup of coffee or tea and watch a great documentary.
“It’s nice because people don’t have to sign up. Just drop in. You could watch a little bit, you could watch the whole thing. It’s great for adults to come in and do it. If kids want to come in, the documentaries are suitable for the kids as well. But yeah, it’s more of an adult social time.”
…And it doesn’t cost you anything.
