The Cochrane Public Library was built in the early 2000s, and is already running out of room.
So a fundraising campaign is underway to help expand the library.

“It is great. It does us well, says program co-ordinator Ardis Proulx-Chedore, “but what’s happening is, like, we have after-school programs where we have about 25 kids registered and a waiting list of about 15. So we’re running out of space that way.”
“We also have an ever-expanding collection which includes snowshoes and skis and all sorts of fun, different library materials and we just need more room.”
Saturday’s Timber Dance at the Commando Pavilion was a fundraiser for the expansion project. Moose FM and My Cochrane Now Dot Com were proud sponsors of the event.
