Chimo is back!
The new polar bear that sits in front of the Cochrane Board of Trade is now on its newly built concrete base. The board says Chimo was replaced with a new statue made in BC because it was about 50 years old and starting to fall apart. The new statue has been in the town but placed in storage until the old Chimo was taken out and a new base could be built.
The new Chimo is currently wrapped up and will be unveiled at a special event on Friday at 1:00pm. The event will feature the statue’s artist who has travelled from BC to be apart of the celebration.
