There are now more diploma to degree pathways at Northern College.
The school has teamed up with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology to create a direct path from diploma programs to a degree. Northern College President Fred Gibbons says students who graduate from a number of courses at the school will be able to stay in the north and take online courses through UOIT.
Gibbons says educating people in the north will help us create a workforce for the region’s future. He says at the moment this will only be offered to about six programs.
He says the college is talking with other universities in the province to create more partnerships like this one.
