Team Finland is taking home the gold at this year’s Stars and Thunder International Firework Competition.
Finland was up against Team Brazil and China. Mayor Steve Black says all the shows scored very well. There were three secret judges that filled out a score card based on colour, musicality, showcasing their country and audience reaction. Black says it was very close between Teams Finland and China, but ultimately Finland can go home with the bragging rights.
Team China took second and Brazil came in third.
The Canada Day fireworks are schedules to go off at 10:30pm tomorrow night. Mayor Black says this could change depending on the forecasted weather. He says if by the end of Saturday the weather is still looking bad for Sunday night, they will set them off after the Beach Boys.
