A pair of forest fires is being dealt with in the District of Cochrane.

Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Fire Management Supervisor Doug McMillan says the two to three fires are in the far north of the district, well away from any towns.

McMillan says the fires began this weekend, but have done little in terms of spreading.

He says as of now Kapuskasing, Cochrane and Hearst need not worry.

McMillan says the fires are currently being monitored to keep surrounding communities safe.
