Consultation To Be Held Thursday In Hearst Regarding Proposed Additional Electoral Districts

Your chance to be heard regarding the proposed addition of two new electoral districts takes place tomorrow.

In Hearst at the Heritage Sawmill Thursday the Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission will continue its second round of consultations to receive feedback in regards to their recommendations.

FNEBC is recommending two additional electoral districts within the geographic areas of Kenora-Rainy River and Timmins-James Bay, for a total of four districts.

Chair of the Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission Justice Joyce L. Pelletier says they are visiting urban and remote communities throughout Ontario’s two most northern electoral districts and basing their recommendation on what they hear back.

The commission must submit their report to the Attorney General by August 1st, before that, they meet for their consultation in Hearst on Thursday, July 13th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
