CANADA DAY FIREWORKS A REAL BLAST

Hundreds crowded around Lake Commando Saturday night for an outstanding fireworks display, despite the severe restrictions caused by ongoing construction at both the north and south ends of the lake.  Cochrane fire chief Richard Valee told MooseFM, even though the public were not permitted to enter the peninsula construction zone, his firefighters were given special permission to do so — meaning the display went off as it normally does.  However, said Valee, next year the launchers will be moved to the south end of the bridge where a special platform is being built.
