Hundreds crowded around Lake Commando Saturday night for an outstanding fireworks display, despite the severe restrictions caused by ongoing construction at both the north and south ends of the lake. ¬†Cochrane fire chief Richard Valee told MooseFM, even though the public were not permitted to enter the peninsula construction zone, his firefighters were given special permission to do so — meaning the display went off as it normally does.¬† However, said Valee, next year the launchers will be moved to the south end of the bridge where a special platform is being built.
