It was a busy Canada Day weekend in Iroquois Falls. Of particular interest was the first ever Heritage Music Festival held at the park Sunday afternoon. Despite the rain, more than one hundred visitors crowded under tents or umbrellas to listen to local bands present various musical genres. Organizers say the Christian event features everything from traditional hymns to the latest contemporary Christian worship songs, and drew bands from as far away as North Bay. Patrick Tousignant, a Cochrane area Pastor and leader of one of the bands, said they hope the festival will become an annual event.
