Porcupine Health Talks Mosquito Safety For The Summer

As the summer months begin, so too does the return of mosquitoes in Northern Ontario.

That is according to Porcupine Health Unit Public Health Inspector/Coordinator Tanya Musgrave, who says with the return of mosquitoes, comes the possible return of West Nile.

Musgrave says the last known positive case in Kapuskasing was over a decade ago, in large part due to the proactive efforts of the Porcupine Health Unit.

Musgrave says the community needs to play their role in being proactive against mosquitoes this summer.

Musgrave says if you are bit; please seek medical attention in order to get a further diagnosis through a family doctor or through contacting the Porcupine Health Unit.
