For the 18th year in a row, Kapuskasing celebrated the Festival, De La St. Jean, with a few tweaks from past years.
President of the festival Jacques Fillion says this year they made a change to the setup of the event, making Friday night an amateur competition night.
Fillion says the idea was to give the event a shake-up and bring in a new feel to the weekend.
He says the switch was made with hopes of attracting new people to their show from all over the area.
Fillion says moving forward they hope to continue to tweak and add to the festival in order to continue to attract an even greater variety of people year after year.
