(NHL)  The Pittsburgh Penguins are one win away from their second straight Stanley Cup after pounding the Nashville Predators 6-0 last night. The Penguins lead the series 3-2 and can win the championship on Sunday in Nashville.

(CFL)  In CFL pre-season action last night the Ottawa Redblacks ran to a 30-29 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and  the Toronto Argonauts beat the Montreal Alouettes 24-20

(French Open)   Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski became the first Canadian women to win a grand slam title yesterday when she teamed up with India’s Rohan Bopanna to claim the mixed doubles crown at the French Open. Meanwhile in women’s semi-final action yesterday Jelena Ostapenko eliminated Timea Bacsinszky  while Simona Halep (haa-lep) defeated Karolina Pliskova.
