Tembec’s Future Still In Kapuskasing

Kapuskasing’s lumber industry is undergoing a change in ownership, so what about its future?

According to Tembec Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Linda Coates, their future is in Kapuskasing.

Coates says Rayonier intends to maintain all current forest operations in Kapuskasing and across Ontario.

She says Rayonier has made it clear they hope to make further investments and additions to facilities in both Ontario and Quebec, as well as strengthen current operations.

Tembec’s sale to Rayonier Advanced Materials bought Tembec in a friendly takeover back on May 25th for $807 million US.
