A Tory attempt to show that the Ontario Liberals’ Northern Growth Plan has failed may have back-fired.
PC northern development critic Norm Miller says the plan was to help develop northern communities.
Miller claims that hasn’t happened.
He says we were supposed to get an integrated transportation system for air, rail, road and water but adds that’s not even close to happening.
However Minister Bill Mauro says the Liberals have pumped 700-million dollars into forestry roads which have helped timber companies.
Mauro adds the Liberals spend 500-million to 600-million dollars a year on northern highways while the most the Tories ever spent was 250-million when they were in power.
