Kashechewan residents can finally return home.

Kapuskasing CAO Guylain Baril says the return of Kashechewan residents will begin today out of Wawa.

Baril says the evacuees being housed in Wawa will be the first to head back, promptly followed by Hearst, Cochrane and Smooth Rock Falls.

He says evacuees will be bused to the nearest airport, where there will be four outgoing flights during daylight hours per day to Kashechewan.

Kapuskasing will be flying back Kashechewan residents this Sunday, May 14th and Monday, May 15th.
