Northern Ontario might finally get an all-party committee made up of northern MPPs who will help ensure proposed legislation doesn`t hurt the north.
Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof introduced the northern committee motion.
Vanthof says right now when legislation is proposed, most MPPs don`t consider how it will affect the north.
Vanthof says the pilot project of the spring bear hunt is a perfect example.

He says the committee would include all northern MPPs regardless of political affiliation with one goal in mind.
Vanthof says the northern committee just wants input on future legislation.
He stresses it won`t have veto powers to kill proposed legislation.
