The lumber industry in Kapuskasing is going to be impacted by new American tariffs.
The United States announced a new tax this past week of nearly 20% on imported softwood lumber from Canada.
Tembec CEO James Lopez says the rise expected by the company, so they are prepared for the worst.
Lopez also says that they are not happy at all though, considering they feel unjustly nailed with the duties of 20%.
He says they expect to go to court to reduce these duties and eventually eliminate them.
