Your chance to show your fishing skills off for a good cause is only a few weeks away.

Kapuskasing’s Annual Fishing Challenge will be taking place Saturday, May 27th and will be hosted by the Kapuskasing Volunteer Firefighters.

Kapuskasing Events Coordinator Kelly Kraby says this is not only an event for fishing junkies but a major fundraiser for the community itself.

Kraby says the community benefits from the funds raised by both the fishing challenge and beach party.

Kraby says she hopes everyone comes out to fish whether a pro or a beginner, as the main goal is to have fun and raise money for the community.

She says the majority of proceeds raised will go towards helping future events within the town, as well as a portion for the fire department.
