(NBA) The Cleveland Cavaliers ran to a 116-105 win over the Toronto Raptors in the opening game of the Eastern Conference semifinals last night. The loss dropped the Raptors to 1-12 in playoff series openers. Game 2 is Wednesday in Cleveland. In other action Houston crushed San Antonio 126-99 to take a 1-0 lead in that series.

Marco Estrada pitched seven innings, gave up one run on seven hits, striking out five.
(NHL) Washington’s Kevin Shattenkirk scored 3:13 into the first overtime to lead the Capitals to a 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins last night. Pittsburgh’s Sydney Crosby left the game early in the first period after getting cross-checked to the head. Crosby did not return and his status for Wednesday’s Game 4 is uncertain.
