The Commando Lake project in Cochrane has been finalized by the town.

The latest investment from FedNor towards the project was the final piece step in solidifying the venture.

Cochrane Mayor Peter Politis says that work on the project will begin after May long weekend, and finish up in September.

Politis says the overall cost is $1.985 million, and the provincial and federal governments together will fund $1.5 million of the project.

The remaining cost for the project of $500,000 will be covered by FedNor’s most recent investment.

Politis says the festival and events pavilion will be a piece of legacy architecture within the community.
