KASHECHEWAN EVACUEES ARRIVE IN COCHRANE

Beginning today, Cochrane will receive 200 evacuees from Kashechewan as the remote northern community begins its annual response to spring flooding.  Kapuskasing has often been the housing hub for Kashechewan residents.  But other communities also help to carry the load.  Mayor Peter Politis says Cochrane is one of those towns.  We have yet to hear from Mayor Michael Shay concerning Iroquois Falls’ possible involvement.
