(NHL) The Washington Capitals hung on for a 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs last night, tying their first round series at 2 games apiece. In other action the Ottawa Senators blanked the Boston Bruins 1-0 to grab a 3-1 lead in their series. The Calgary Flames have been eliminated after falling 3-1 to the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks swept the best-of-seven set 4 games to none and Minnesota stayed alive with a 2-0 win over St Louis, the Blues lead that series 3 games to 1.
(MLB) Francisco Liriano combined with three relievers on a six-hit shutout as the Toronto Blue Jays shutout the Boston Red Sox 3-0 last night. The Jays will look to win their first series of the year this afternoon. Marco Estrada takes the hill for the Jays while Chris Sale starts for the Red Sox.
(NBA) Last night in the NBA, Washington beat Atlanta 109-101 to take a 2 -0 lead in their first round series. Elsewhere Houston beat OKC 115-111, the Rockets lead that series 2-0 and Golden State ran to a 110-81 win over Portland and a 2 games to none lead over the Trailblazers.
