Groundhog Chip Stand As Local As Can Be

When the Groundhog Chip Stand makes its way out to Highway 11, it’s a clear sign of spring in the Kapuskasing area.

What people may not know is how much the stand does for the local community beyond feeding them.

19-year-old owner Alex Albert says he buys his food local, therefore, the product right through the profit remains within the community.

Albert says he hopes people see that buying from his stand means supporting the local economy.

Currently, Albert is sponsoring Chanelle Larabie for the Miss North Ontario pageant, and hopes that he can give more back to the community as his success continues.
