Bear Wise Ontario are posting a black bear warning for our area. Our big furry neighbors are coming out of hibernation and will start making appearances on roadways and near populated areas soon, as they begin the search for food. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry advise all Cochrane and Iroquois Falls residents to use common sense, keep garbage and other bear-temptations well contained and inaccessible, and if you are confronted by a black bear, employ standard response tactics.
