Canadian Adam Hadwin shot a final round 71 to finish at 14 under and win his first PGA Tour title at the Valspar Championship yesterday. The win qualifies Hadwin for the 2017 Masters taking place April 6th to 9th.

The Carleton Ravens Mens Basketball team are university champions once again. The Ravens defeated the Ryerson Rams 78-69 yesterday to claim their seventh straight title and 13th overall.

Brad Guhsue (Goo-shee) has won his first Tim Horton’s Brier. The win came yesterday on home ice when Team Newfoundland and Labrador defeated Team Canada 7-6. Gushue will now take his squad to the world men’s curling championships in Edmonton next month.

Canada fell to the USA 8-0 at the World Baseball Classic yesterday. Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster recorded just one out in the start giving up two hits and three earned runs while walking three. In other action, the Dominican Republic beat Columbia 10-3 in 11 innings, Mexico beat Venezuela 11-9, Puerto Rico beat Italy 9-3, and Japan got past the Netherlands 8-6.

In NHL action, an all Canadian matchup saw Montreal beat Edmonton 4-1. Around the rest of the league San Jose beat Dallas 5-1, Anaheim beat Washington 5-2, the New York Rangers defeated Detroit 4-1, and Chicago skated to a 4-2 win over Minnesota.

The Houston Rockets took down the reigning champion Cleveland Cavaliers 117-112. Cleveland has now lost three in a row. In other action, the Boston Celtics beat up on the Chicago Bulls 100-80, Philadelphia beat the LA Lakers 118-116, and a matchup in the Big Apple saw Brooklyn beat New York 120-112.
