In other action Montreal shut out Columbus 1-0 in overtime, Edmonton edged St Louis 2-1, Calgary needed overtime for a 2-1 win over LA, Detroit also used overtime for a 3-2 victory over Vancouver and Minnesota skated to a 6-5 win over Winnipeg.
The Toronto Blue Jays hit 4 home runs as they thumped the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-0 yesterday for their first Grapefruit league win. Eight Jay’s pitchers combined on the four-hit shutout.
