The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is pleased that the province has renewed the Rural Economic Development program.
FONOM President Alan Spacek says the RED funding is focused solely on rural community projects that will attract investment, create jobs and boost growth:
He says this will especially help communities with no economic development departments:
Spacek added having funding set aside for smaller scale projects will help stop the competition between smaller northern municipalities and larger urban centres.
