February 1st is a special day for Cochrane’s Polar Bear Habitat. The lake enclosure is now frozen over and sufficiently safe to release 650 pound Henry and 1030 pound Ganuk onto the massive skating rink. Officials say the bears will be released into the massive enclosure – the largest of its kind on earth – at around 10am tomorrow. The public is welcome to attend in person, or view the event online.
