A North Bay area man has died after going through the ice south of the city.  The 82-year-old was driving a tractor on what’s known locally as the Hydro Pond in Powassan when the vehicle broke through a layer of ice.  Although family members and the OPP performed life-saving measures, hospital staff pronounced him dead.  The man is identified as Eugene Kunkel of Powssan.
