Fedeli says Premier begins assault on gas plants

Vic Fedeli, the MPP for Nipissing, says his hometown of North Bay is the first casualty of the Premier’s assault on natural gas plants.  Fedeli says Kathleen Wynne is cancelling its contract with Atlantic Power in North Bay and replacing it with hydro-electric power from Quebec.  Fedeli says Wynne doesn’t care that she’s making life more expensive for Ontarians because for her it’s all about achieving an ideology.  He says she prefers the pretty picture that solar and wind paint as opposed to the cold reality that she’s made electricity more expensive in Ontario.  The Tory MPP adds on top of that she’s creating jobs in Quebec and the expense of job losses in Ontario.   As a result of the contract cancellation, Atlantic is also mothballing its Kapuskasing plant and suspending operations at its facility in Nipigon.
