Cochrane’s 2017 annual budget has been approved in principle at 3%. The budget increase is either consistent with or below that set by other northern communities and takes into account Cochrane’s highest priority needs while seeking to be as efficient as restrained as possible. Following the cancellation of bi-weekly garbage pickup, the town has been forced to find other ways to save money and generate sufficient revenue.
