As we head into the Christmas weekend, various OPP detachments are putting out drive safe messages.  One of those messages is from Inspector Brent Cecchini  of the Timiskaming OPP.    Cecchini says motorists can expect R.I.D.E. stops not only in his area but throughout the province.    He says the harm that drivers do to others as a result of being impaired by booze or drugs is impossible to calculate.   Cecchini is urging the public to call 911 if someone they know is impaired and insists on driving.   The James Bay OPP stopped 300 vehicles with its road side stops.   One driver got a three day license suspension and eight other people were hit with Provincial Offenses notices.  The detachment had 15 check points set up at various sites over three days.
