A recent study conducted by Fontaine and Associates shows just how little young people know about Financial Literacy. Fontaine and Associates partner and Licensed Insolvency Trustee in Timmins, Joel Picard says they’ve seen more and more young people coming in looking for help with overwhelming debt issues and the education system is to blame for this . Picard says basic financial education isn’t being taught as much as it was 20 years ago. He adds the Ontario government recently announced they will be introducing money management classes into high school, but more is needed.
