Smaller communities across the province are using social media more now than ever before. Although towns under 10-thousand seem to be following the digital trend, Northeastern Ontario communities have the lowest social media use in the province. In our region less than half of communities have a Facebook or Twitter page, however Smooth Rock Falls came in at 18th on the list of most likes per capita. The town has less than 1,400 people and has close to 800 likes on their Facebook page. Timmins was ranked 18th for most liked community Facebook page and Mayor Steve Black made the list too.
