A joint traffic safety initiative has led to several people being charged in our area. In October the James Bay OPP, along with the MTO and MNRF conducted a traffic initiative on Highway 11 in the Town of Cochrane. Police handed out three provincial offence notices for not wearing a seatbelt, one for using a handheld device. Under the Tobacco Tax Act another two individuals were fined and a man from Sudbury was charged under the controlled drugs and substances act.
