The Chicago Cubs have won their first World Series since 1908. It took 10 innings but the Cubs held on to beat the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in Game 7. Chicago completed a 3-1 series comeback to clinch the title.

Carey Price notched his first shutout of the season as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-0 last night. Elsewhere Philadelphia needed overtime for a 4-3 win over Detroit and Pittsburgh beat Anaheim 5-1.
