The Chicago Cubs are still alive, they beat Cleveland  3-2 last night. The Indians lead the World series 3 games to 2.

Toronto FC  beat New York City FC 2-0 last night in Game 1 of the MLS Eastern Conference semifinal. The rematch goes next Sunday in New York at Yankee Stadium.

Yesterday in NFL action the New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills 41-25,Atlanta edged Green bay 33-32 and in the late game Dallas needed overtime foor a 29-23 win over Philadelphi.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were thumped 5-1 by the Islanders in New York last night. Elsewhere Craig Anderson made 37 saves to record his second straight shutout as Ottawa blanked Edmonton 2-0, Washington skated to a 3-1 win over Calgary and Buffalo beat Winnipeg 3-1.

It was a tough weekend for the Cochrane Crunch who took only 1 of 3 games.  Following a 4-3 victory over Elliot Lake Friday, the Crunch fell victim to Blind River Saturday 4-1.  Sunday’s game against Rayside-Balfour was close and exceedingly hard fought, but the Crunch nevertheless had to absorb a 6-5 loss.   The Iroquois Falls Eskis played two games over the weekend, beating Kirkland Lake 4-3 on Saturday, but losing to Powassan 4-2 Sunday.
